The Toyota Motor Corporation established the Scion as a separate marketing entity to attract generation Y car buyers-those coming of age in the car buying market in the mid-2000’s. Toyota debuted the Scion in 2002 at the New York Aut0 Show with a formal launch in mid-2003 for the 2004 model year. The Scion xB is a quirky little car designed like a matchbox but priced for a market of young buyers.

Scion is a US division of Toyota founded in 2003. It currently has three models: the xA, xB and the tC (a new design based on the European-market Toyota Avensis). The Scion xA is one of Toyota’s top-selling vehicles in Europe.

Just as General Motors owns Chevrolet, Toyota decided to separate themselves from Scion in order to create a completely different identity for a new market of buyers.

Scion has an innovative marketing campaign targeting the Generation Y market of younger consumers who are on the cutting edge, these consumers having been bombarded by advertising are jaded to traditional marketing.  The Scion has a campaign that promises “Personalization and Flexibility” which really appeals to the younger generation of consumers.  Older buyers also find the Scion attractive because of the connection between Scion and Toyota that provides buyers with assurance of value, quality and reliability.

Scion offers a variety of accessories; such as subwoofers, different types of decals, canvas roofs, and other accessories. The tC will offer an optional supercharger to increase its horsepower from 160 to 200 hp.

Scion’s vehicles, have been received well among consumers tired of cars that look and perform the same as far as entry level vehicles. An episode of MTV’s Pimp My Ride featured the Scion xB which helped to develop the concept that this is not just an ordinary car, but something really hip, and unique.

Well known to be one of the safest and most reliable minivans available, many people feel that Sienna is one of the most attractive as well. This year represents the beginning of the 3rd generation Sienna, a minivan that has been transporting Americans with dignity and swiftness since 1998.

The 2011 Toyota Sienna is available as the base model Sienna, Sienna LE, XE, XLE and Limited. The LE and the XLE offer the choice of either seven or eight passenger seating arrangements. The base Sienna and the Sienna LE can be found with the smaller 4-cylinder, or with the 3.5 liter V6. All of the 2011 Sienna XLEs, the SEs and the Limiteds have the 3.5 liter V6.  The Sienna and the Sienna SE are both front wheel drive vehicles. All other trim levels come with 2WD or AWD. The widespread availability of AWD is one component of the Sienna that distinguishes it from much of the competition.

With an entry level Sienna, it has been established that it comes with the 2.7 liter engine, but what else is to be expected? You will get the daytime running headlights with the manual on/off override switch, as well as the solar energy absorbing glass that comes standard on all of the Siennas. Power external mirrors and dual sliding doors come standard, as does the 17 inch five-spoke alloy wheels. This type of Sienna can cost as little as $24,260.

At the other more expensive yet more luxurious extreme, let us consider the Sienna Limited AWD 7-passenger 2011 minivan. Now, add on the Limited premium package, which includes a dual-entertainment center and two wireless headphones, a 10-speaker JBL AM/FM/MP3/4 disc CD changer, IPod connectivity, Bluetooth phone capability and music streaming, among other things. For the sake of visualization consider a jet black exterior with two-tone interior leather in light-gray. Next, throw in a few more accessories like; mudguards, emergency roadside assistance kit, remote starter, and a roof rack.  While all of these add-ons will inflate the MSPR up to $47,066, you will have constructed of the greatest minivans on the planet.

There are many considerations to account for when selecting one of your own. The Toyota experts at Spirit Toyota in St Louis will assist you in picking out and purchasing the new or used Toyota Sienna that you have been wanting.
