Toyota Prius HybridAs you travel in your hybrid Toyota from St. Peters to St. Charles or anywhere in the St Louis, MO area, you’re attracting grime. From fingerprints on the glass to mud, dust, and even pollen, your windows are getting dirtier and dirtier. While you have a wiper and fluid for your windshield, and maybe even the same system for your back window if you are lucky, those side windows need some special care too—and they won’t be washing themselves.

When you take your hybrid Toyota through a car wash, those windows get pretty clean. Sure, a few spots might get missed, and you could get some water spots from a poor job drying the vehicle. All in all however, the outside of the windows is clean. What about the inside, however? Even if you take good care of your car, grime and film will begin to coat the inside of the windows. If you have children in your hybrid Toyota, you can all but guarantee that those windows are pretty gross indeed.

Every now and again, you will have to wash the inside of the windows on your hybrid Toyota. Fortunately, it won’t take long if you do it regularly. Just get some glass cleaner and some clean cloths. Spray the glass, let it sit for a minute, and wipe away the cleaner and the dirt. You may have to wash a particularly messy window twice to get the shine you are looking for, but the dirt should come off pretty easily.

So, do yourself a favor and wash the inside of those windows. If you do it every time you check your oil, you’ll be sure to have clean windows when you need them. Not only that, but you’ll be amazed at just how much better your visibility will be once you get them clean.

Toyota Dealer Tips: Staying Safe in the Cold

Emergency blanketWhen you drive down the icy St Louis roads this winter, we at your Toyota dealer hope that you stay safe and sound. Sometimes, however, accidents happen and you’ll have to get out of your car. If this happens, you may find that your attire just isn’t enough to keep you warm on the side of the road as you wait for help. While preparation may not help you if your trunk is damaged, having some extra items on hand can make a huge difference in your comfort and your health.

Take it from your St Louis Toyota dealer—there’s not much that is more miserable than freezing outside in the winter. So, what are some items you should keep in your trunk? Well, first and foremost, you should have at least one spare blanket. While you can use it to keep warm, of course, it has other uses as well. You can use the blanket as protection against the cold and wet if you need to kneel down to change a tire or to investigate damage.

There are some other items your Toyota dealer thinks you should have on hand for winter driving. Extra mittens and gloves, socks, hats, a sweater, and scarves are great choices. Also, you may want to keep some boots in the trunk, as well as self warming packets to put into your mittens. They sell these at many camping supply stores, and when you squish the package, the chemicals inside mix. The reaction between these chemicals produces heat, which you can use to keep your hands and feet warm.

At you Toyota dealer, we know the hazards of wintry St Louis roads. Keeping some warm clothing and blankets on hand is a simple idea, but it can make a huge difference to you if you ever really need them.
